Story walkthroughNow that we got that out of the way, let me explain the game itself a bit more. The idea of The Talos Principle (base game, not Gehenna DLC) is that you will have a bunch of rooms with self contained puzzles. Each puzzle will contain a tetris piece at the end called a Sigil.
The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna walkthrough will give you all puzzle solutions and guide you through the beginning to ending moments of gameplay with strategy tips for this first-person-puzzler game expansion on the PC, Mac, Linux & later PS4.
These sigils will come in 4 colors/varieties:. Green - These sigils will open doors and access to other buildings.
There are 4 main puzzles associated with these:. Exiting Level 1 in Building A. Exiting Building A. Entering Building B. Entering Building C. Yellow - The yellow sigils give you access to new tools to complete puzzles in the game. The 5 tools we receive for this:.
Connector Pylons. Weighted Cube.
Fan Blades. Record/Playback Button Terminals. Carrying platform.
Red - Red sigils are used for opening doors within the Tower (even if you didn't want to climb the tower, collecting these Sigils is required for any ending of the game - except maybe one). These will unlock the following floor doors:. Floor 1. Floor 2. Floor 3. Floor 4.
Floor 5. Gray - These are unique pieces. They unlock 'Floor 6' of the tower. They are contained behind special doors - one in each of the 3 buildings.
They are locked behind the Star Doors located in each building. These star doors each require 10 stars to unlock.
You can open these in any order, but you'll need all 30 stars to reach all of the gray sigils. These rooms will each contain 3 of the gray pieces required. The stars mentioned above are challenges in the rooms. You will not necessarily see the stars or know what it will take to collect these. There are 30 in total for The Talos Principle and we need all 30 for the Gray sigils.
These can be very difficult to find as they are hidden from plain sight almost always and require thinking outside the box to collect. Many of these will require using multiple rooms or unseen tricks to make them work. There are 3 endings for achievements in this game:. Complete every Green, Yellow, and Red puzzle to collect all of the basic Sigils.
This will open the large door in Building C. Collect every Green, Yellow, and Red Sigil and climb the tower. Collect all 30 stars and all 9 of the Gray sigils. Head to Floor 6 and complete the gameWe will complete all 3 of these endings eventually during our playthrough. To speed up the accumulation of the endings, there is a backup feature in the game. These backups are auto-saves that occur throughout the game. Each auto-save occurs after completion of some task. For example, opening doors and collecting sigils are all events that trigger a new auto-save.
The game will maintain around 10 of these at all times. We will reload saves throughout the ending to quickly earn most of the achievements (in either playthrough style we will use this). Our general game flow towards the 100%:. Collect all Green, Yellow, Red Sigils and Stars in Building A. Repeat for Building B. Repeat for Building C. Do each of the 3 computer conversation achievements. Collect Missing Stars/Sigils.
Do the Tower Climb Ending. Do the Big Door Ending.
Do the Messenger EndingThe Gehenna story is a prequel DLC to The Talos Principle. The play is very similar to The Talos Principle, but the challenges are turned up a bit. We have less to collect overall, but the difficulty floor for these puzzles is a lot higher.
In terms of collections, here's what we'll need to complete it:. Prisoners - There are 17 to collect. These are similar to the Sigils in the base game. One Prisoner is at the end of each puzzle. We will release all 17 of them along the way. Stars - There are 16 of these during the Gehenna DLC. You only need to collect 10 of them however.
These are very difficult. While there are guides to getting all 16 on the internet, we only got the first 10 we could find. These might not be the easiest 10, but they were the first ones we came across and found methods to do. Administrator - The Admin is a special prisoner. Releasing the Admin requires the 10 stars to open a portal with 7 more gray sigils. The puzzles here are some of the most intricate (with ridiculously simple solutions that are very counter-intuitive due to them being trick solutions).
This area requires understanding some mechanics of objects that you might not have considered ever.
Please note that viewers must be at least age 7 to watch, so no harm comes to those with innocent eyes. This game includes non realistic looking violence towards fantasy characters.
